Clothing: Maine can be pretty chilly in the afternoons and evening, especially in Lubec and out on Quoddy Head (where the wedding will be). Please bring warm clothes and don’t be afraid to bundle up! This is not a fancy affair and we want everyone to be comfortable. It’s also cold out on the water, so if you’re planning on going sailing, whale-watching, or puffin-watching, warm clothes are also in order. Raincoats are a good idea in general, but especially so for pursuits at sea!
Shoes: There are lots of hikes and beach walks in the area, so good shoes are a good idea. The wedding ceremony and potluck/dance will also be on grass, so high heels are probably not a good choice.
Canoes/kayaks: If you’re driving and you have a boat, do bring it. The Plaut farm is on Cobscook Bay, which is fun to explore by boat; there are seals, cormorants, and a bald eagle nest.
Passport: Campobello Island has many great attractions (see the Things to Do page) but now you need a passport to get there, so bring one if you have one.
Campers: If you plan on camping, it’s BYOT (bring your own tent, etc). The Station House (Coast Guard Station) will have the most reliable water for showers.
